The PC Antispyware application is taking on a new form but still doing the same old thing.  It’s now going by PC Antispyware 2010 but it’s still the same old fake security product that is nothing more than a virus.

People are reporting that their desktop image is gone and replaced with another one that tells them they are infected with a virus.In many cases the Task Manager is being disabled which makes it harder to end the virus program so you can remove the needed traces.

Perhaps the most anoying feature of this virus is the constant pop-ups and re-directs to purchase the fake program.  Those results are all fake.  The scammers make money off of this when someone falls prey and makes a purchase of the software.  You should never even consider purchasing the bogus program.

If your infected then you have a few choices to make.  If you are not that good with computers then consider hiring someone to remove the virus for you.I know many people want a manual removal option but unless you feel confident about deleting registry keys then you might want to consider other options.  You can always get your computer repaired online for a lot less then in a computer shop.  Places like this PC repair site can remove your virus and all other Trojans and spyware for around 89 bucks.

The other option is to purchase a program that can remove the threat for you.  While there are plenty of free clients out there you may have a hard time finding one that can fully remove this threat.Just be sure to select a client that is well known to protect computers so you do not get infected again.

I can give you one great start on removing this particular strain.  You need to end delete everything in the PC Antispyware2010 folder located under the Program Files.  You may find this does not fully remove all the Trojans on your system but you at least can be rid of most of the pop-ups and constant messages you are getting about purchasing and registering this fake product.
