A few years ago I decided to take a break from the mundane lifestyle that was my existence. I had been feeling for a while now that my life was a little meaningless. That is not unusual you may feel, for someone in their mid twenties. But that is exactly what I felt like, I had to have some sort of new direction to take my life with a new challenge.
Not wishing to bore anyone rigid, but I have a good level of education – degree in business practice and a pretty good level of natural intelligence! My initial job experience has been working within the financial sector, with a few years with a leading American credit card company based in Brighton UK.
What caught my imagination was a job being offered by a company in London called Provident, which employs one of my mates. The job had been offered internally on their intranet, and involved a move to Prague in the Czech Republic. The job that was on offer was entirely financial and similar to the UK position, but focused more on customer service and loans advice. Apparently people take out more loans in these eastern European countries, than many other countries in the world. It was made clear by the employers that a fluent knowledge of the language was not essential to begin the job, as this would happen as I progress. I knew that I would have to understand the meaning of many new words – for example: ’půjÄky online’ which means ‘online loans’.
This all occurred several months ago, and it was very positive job offer from the Czech company. I have been given plenty of new vocabulary to learn for the new position ‘osobní půjÄka’ which means ‘personal loan’ which will stretch my imagination.
The term that is really twisting my tongue is ‘půjÄky bez potvrzení o pÅ™íjmu‘ means loans without proof of income, which used to be my specialist area.
